Individual Mask Work.
b) What is your mask seeking? What contributes to their feeling of loneliness on some level?
c) What is the text or action of their” personal ad”?
- Describe your process for creating and bringing your mask to life. Discuss choices around mask shape/structure, paint, and physicality/vocal choices for your character.
- Describe an ideal costume or outfit for your mask character? What will you wear in performance to simulate this?
- What was your most authentic moment for you in mask or what moment told you the most about your mask?
- What contributes and creates good mask performance? What makes the mask alive and readable?
- Performance Task: Your mask approaches a graffiti wall. They either write something on the wall or read something that is written on the wall that inspires them to reveal/perform a personal ad. Your mask is lonely or searching in some aspect of their life and they place an ad in some format or some way that reaches out to someone/something to fill that void.

Journals for Listening Party/Movement: You should have two pages which reflect experiences gained while performing, creating, or observing The Listening Party and/or while exploring and learning the Laban effort actions. You should also create a page with provides a record and definition for yourself of the Laban effort actions. How has your body/energy defined them? How will they be useful in future character and/or scene work? Why is devloping physical expression and expanding our movement vocabularies so valuable for us as actors and performers? If you need a reminder about the rubrics and ideas for Drama journals, have a look at the Drama 10 page.
